
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th, 1976. He was raised in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, which was where he excelled as a player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He was instrumental in leading the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receiving nine receptions, and beat it. Gonzalez later led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months after. He then left school to participate in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as their 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a part of the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. Then, he was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez never caught less than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
